Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and musician. She began by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed lyrics in rap that dealt with questions of racial identity and sexual orientation. Then she expanded her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. Then, she started traditional and hip-hop training. Concentrating on school she studied journalism as well as women's studies at college, even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a time. Following graduation, she decided to pursue music as her main focus. After becoming famous through the Internet and her own My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually was included on the album she released, Yellow Ranger. Some other hits that went viral included queef, a body positive track, and the witty NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The final track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, which was published in 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers following the completion of her previous two endeavors, author and musician. In addition to early series that included Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a number of major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, in Fina We Trust in June of the year.
