Rachel Keller

RachelRachel Keller is a fictional character from The Ring film series. The character created by Rachel Keller was developed by Ehren Kruger. Naomi Watts plays the character. Rachel is required to look into the past of Samara Morgan after her son becomes ill with an unknown illness. Ruth asks Rachel Keller the investigative journalist to find out the truth behind Katie's death. She informs Rachel that she discovered her daughter's disfigured corpse in the closet. She also reveals that the cause of Katie's death was a heart attack regardless of Katie being a healthy teenager. Katie's family members tell Rachel about the myth surrounding the cursed videotape , and also that Becca Katie's close friend was institutionalized after witnessing Katie's death. The girl also learns Katie's boyfriend, as well as two of her buddies suffered fatal accidents the same evening at 10 pm. Rachel is able to travel to Shelter Mountain Inn and stays in Cabin 12, which is the exact cabin in which Katie and her friends watched the videotape that was cursed. Rachel discovers the tape and once it's done the phone starts to ring. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel is referred to Noah Clay as a video analyst by her ex-boyfriend. In the future, Rachel discovers that Aidan who is her son with Noah, watched the tape at the same time that Noah calls her, telling her that he believes her. Rachel investigates the tape to discover the location of the lighthouse. It was on Moesko Island. Anna Morgan who was cursed as a horse breeder appeared on the tape. After investigating, Rachel discovers Anna had an adopted daughter, named Samara and she had the ability to burn disturbing images into the minds of humans as well as animals and other objects. Rachel is introduced to Anna's widower Richard and he asks her leave as she begins to inquire about Samara.
